Welcome to My Website…

Thanks for visiting my website. I would love to hear your comments or answer any questions you might have. You can leave a comment here or go to the Contact Us page to email me. This website was put together with a lot of hard work and tender loving care but special attention to those who might be viewing it because of coming to a critical juncture in their life.

I understand those difficult places.  And so when I thought of the overall appeal of the site I wanted this place to be very personal.  In addition to therapy I also enjoy writing so there are blog articles to check out and links to social media like Facebook and Twitter.

The background to my site is a painting by Steven Armstrong titled Finding Strathcona.  I came across this artwork in a gallery in Victoria, British Columbia on an anniversary trip with my wife.  I loved it so much I acquired it and have it in my office.  The texture of the canvas and brush strokes show up nicely on the webpage.  My web designer, Amy Stewart of Stewart Design, shared with me that it made her think of a “hands-on art experience like the play therapy you do and that painting is all about personal expression, like therapy,” so I thought it would be a wonderful background for my attempt to reach out to people who might visit my site.  This picture also says something of what I believe about therapy and life.  True, the journey is important.  But people going into therapy are not looking for a journey – they’re wanting a destination.  And rightly so considering the challenges and obstacles they face.  Finding Strathcona shows a destination that is serene, peaceful, nourishing, and powerful.  It is my hope that your journey in therapy and the destination to which it leads might be the same.
