I spent almost 20 years in Business Management and Development before pursuing my second career in Marriage & Family Therapy. My education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Political Science, Master of Arts in Marriage & Family Therapy, and a certification in Life Coaching. I believe in working with my clients through a collaborative relationship, allowing therapy to be shaped by their wants and needs for growth. I am well-versed in all of the different theoretical approaches because there is not a one-size-fits-all when it comes to therapy. Each client is different, and I make sure to create a treatment plan that is uniquely suited just for them.
I believe no one gets through life unscathed, and I am here to lift you up during those struggles. Our brains start building our knowledge base right from the start, and as we age, we build on what we already learned. However, we rarely know when something we learned is hindering our growth. We notice when a problem arises, but it is difficult to connect the dots on our own. For example, depression and anxiety have become commonplace in our society, and my job is to help you to identify where the disconnect is occurring that is causing these symptoms.
Family therapy and couples therapy can be helpful during transitions in life. Because a family is a unit of multiple people, changes to one person can affect everyone within the family. I have a talent for listening to multiple viewpoints to pinpoint misperceptions and misinterpretations. I work hard to make sure each family member is truly heard in order to guide the family through these adjustments on their journey back to a happy and healthy environment.
